John Calvin Scott

John Calvin Scott, age 93 of Hardy died Monday, December 3, 2018. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Beatrice S. Scott; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Scott (Sandra), Claude Scott (Kathy), Gary Scott (Kathy); six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Scott was a member of Halesford Baptist Church for many years where he served as a Deacon. He was also a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Special thanks to Medi-Hospice and caregivers at Runk and Pratt for their care and concern. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
