John Paul Vayan

John Paul Vayan, age 66 of Rocky Mount passed away Monday, November 10, 2025. He was born December 15, 1958, a son of the late Robert Edward Vayan and Emma Louise Kraus Vayan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Anne Meeker Vayan; and brother, Bobby Vayan. Surviving to cherish his memory are his four children, Tammy (William) Thompson, Jonathan Vayan, Steven Vayan and Heidi (Doug) Carpenter; grandchildren, Gwendolynn Benning, William Thompson, Kailey Vayan, Alyssa Vayan, Damien Withrow and Amber Carpenter; siblings, Eddie Vayan, Billy Vayan and Mary Babycos; special friend, Pam Rout; many nieces, nephews and cousins. John was a very selfless man. He was always willing to help anyone and would give the shirt off his back to those who needed it. He loved being a jokester, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. John often enjoyed taking his boat out on Smith Mountain Lake. Services will be held privately at a later date.
