John Jasper Wagoner

John Jasper Wagoner, age 88 of Henry died Thursday, November 3, 2016. He was born August 31, 1928, son of the late William Bud Wagoner and Callie Lou Deal. He was also preceded in death by his brother, George Wagoner, and sister, Mary Lou Cooke. He was an active member of Evangelistic House of Prayer in Ferrum, VA for 50 years and was employed with Bassett Mirror Company for 41 years. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Janie Y. Wagoner; daughters, Nancy Scott (Alex), Marion Herrin (Jimmy), Cathy Wright, Barbara Simpson (Tim); sons, John (Lois), Robert (Jeanette), and Kenneth (Gayle); 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their outstanding care in his final days. Funeral services will be conducted at Evangelistic House of Prayer in Ferrum 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 with Mr. Tommy Sullivan and Mr. J.R. Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of John Wagoner.
