John William Hodges, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday June 10th surrounded by his family and friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Golden Hodges, father-in-law, Vern Hodges, and brother Denvil Hodges.
William was survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gladys Hodges, Sisters- Shirley and Billy Tosh, Helen Quinn, Ella Sink, & Minnie Hankins, Mother-in-law Ruby Campbell, Sisters and brothers-in-law- Margie Pagans, Deborah & Gerald Powell, and Terry Hodges, His 6 children and spouses- Carolyn Brooks & Jeff Overstreet, Pat Hodges, David Hodges, Bonnie & Greg Wood, Barry Hodges, and Ricky & Amber-Lee Hodges, Six Grandchildren - Melissa Brooks & CJ Mullins, Monica Brooks, Scott Wood, Ashlee Hodges, Andrew English-Zwolinski, and William Robertson, 2 great-grandchildren, Brianna Jones and Sean Mullins. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survived.
The family wishes to send special thanks and recognition to David Hodges, William’s son, nephew- Joey Hodges, niece- Lisa Bousman, and special friends- Raymond & Shirley Overstreet, Connie Wright, and Zach 'Butch' & Teresa Hodges.
Funeral services will be conducted from Central Baptist Church 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Paul Mahan and Rev. Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in the Hodges-Lynch Family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday with his family receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
