Johnnie W. Turner

On the morning of July 20, 2019, Johnnie W. Turner, 71 of Glade Hill, walked the streets of gold to meet his heavenly father. Welcoming him at the pearly gates were his father, Thomas "Tom" Turner; his mother, Lula Dent Turner; his beloved sister, Sandra "Gaye" Turner; sister, Faye Divers; and sister, Margie English. Johnnie was a devoted member of the Wirtz Assemblies of God Church where he faithfully attended. He was always inviting someone to attend church. Surviving are his brothers, Rev. Denver Turner (Donna) and Lester "Calvin" Turner (Sue); his sister, Kathy Dillon (Phillip); nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Pattie English, Cheryl Kincer, Basil Divers, Alicia Foster, Teresa Craghead, John D. Turner (Marcia), Lisa Leak (Corny), Crystal Turner-Avila (Joey), Kristin Fields (Michael), Kaitlin Divers (James), Lindsey Foster, John T. Turner, Alexis Turner, Lia Leak, Liam Fields, Levi Fields, Shay Washburn, Angelina Trevino and Lucas Fields; special cousin, Robert Dent (Doraine); church friends, Jo Tingler (his prayer partner), Roger Cline and Dale Hodges. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his faithful and devoted home caregivers, Crystal Turner-Avila (live-in care giver) Pattie English, Sue Turner, Kathy Dillon and Becky Young and also to his church family for their prayers, care and concern. In lieu of flowers or food the family asks to make donations to the Wirtz Assemblies of God. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2019 with Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will be in the Turner Family Cemetery 10 a.m. Wednesday. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center.
