Joseph Junior Clingenpeel died Thursday March 31, 2011. Born in Dillon’s Mill, Virginia he was the oldest son of Joseph C. and Vedie Holt Clingenpeel. Joe served in the United States Navy in active combat during the Korean War. He was retired from General Electric after 32 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Lou Clingenpeel; his children and their spouses, Victor Clingenpeel (John Imbirowiez), Steve and Pamela Clingenpeel, Staci and Thomas Welch; grandchildren, Andrea Clingenpeel, Ashton Pope and Victoria Pope; sister, Trudie(Warren) Likens; brothers, Kenneth Clingenpeel and Danny (Mary) Clingenpeel. Graveside services will be conducted 2 PM Sunday from Mountain View Memorial Park with Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. His family will receive friends 6-8 pm Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
