Joseph Benjamin "J.B." Holland

Joseph Benjamin "J.B." Holland, age 78 of Glade Hill, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 7, 2022. He was born in Glade Hill, Virginia, a son of the late Floyd Smith Holland and Effie Brooks Holland. J.B. grew up on the family Dairy and Tobacco Farm, something he truly loved. He enjoyed bird hunting and taking walks on the farm. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Holland Davis and Carrie Holland Foutz. J.B. is survived by his soulmate and girlfriend, Joyce Pagans Smithers, and her daughter and son-in-law, Tena and Daniel Mullins and their two sons, Brandon and Jordan, and their daughter, Felisha and her son, Colton. He is also survived by his two sons, Tony Holland and his wife Dena Beach Holland, and Travis Holland; and by a daughter, Kim Holland Nuckles and her children, Montana, Riley, Nolan, and Ava. One sister, Mildred Holland Shelton and three brothers, Jim Holland, Sherrard Holland and his wife Shirley, and Jeff Holland and his wife Cindy. And several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in the Mattox Family Cemetery with Rev. David Long officiating. A visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glade Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
