Joseph Prutzman

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joe Prutzman, age 70, of Henry, VA, on March 3, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Leukemia.

Born on December 24, 1955, in Wilkes-Barre, PA to John and Mary Prutzman, Joe lived life on his own terms. While Joe enjoyed having fun and was often the life of the party, he was forever devoted to his high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years, Susan, with whom he built a life for her and their children, Joe and Michele.

Joe enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing with his many friends and brothers, John, Walt and Kevin. After retiring from Joseph Prutzman Landscaping and moving to Henry, VA, he spent over a year lovingly renovating the fixer-upper until it was perfect. He enjoyed visiting the many festivals, breweries, distilleries and any moonshine-related events. He mostly relished looking out on his own beautiful piece of property. throwing the ball until his arm hurt to Reggie, his black lab.

Joe is survived by his wife Susan, of Henry, VA; daughter Michele Prutzman and her partner, Nash Fralick, of Wilmington, NC; son Joseph of Stroudsburg, PA; brother Kevin Prutzman, of Hopatcong, NJ; Sister Beverly Cilurso and husband, Russ Cilurso of Sandy Ridge, NC; Bev Prutzman, of Black Lake, NM and brother-in-law, William Bray and wife, Dianna of Lancaster, PA and many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends who he loved dearly. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Prutzman, of Dover, NJ; brother John Prutzman, of Budd Lake, NJ; and brother Walter Prutzman, of Black Lake, NM.

A celebration of life will be announced in the near future in Stroudsburg, PA.
