Joseph "Billy" Saunders Webster

Joseph S. “Billy” Webster, age 87 of Boones Mill went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 12, 2009. He loved God, his family and his country. He was a World War II Veteran, entering into the Army Air Force for active duty December 30, 1942 and was honorably discharged October 30, 1945. Billy was a member of Fairmont Baptist Church which he loved and enjoyed so much, but was unable to attend for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel A. and Margaret S. Webster; his sister, Virginia Weight; and son-in-law, Roy “Bud” Wilson. Surviving are his devoted wife Velda; two daughters, Shirley Wilson and Rhonda Sloan; son-in-law, Eric Sloan; two grandchildren, Brandon Sloan and Morgan Sloan; two step-grandchildren, Bud Wilson, Jr. and Troy Wilson, all of whom he loved very much. Also surviving are two sisters, Esther Earl, and Marguerite Angell; two brothers, Jesse Webster (Louise) and Saunders Webster (Geraldine). Funeral services will be conducted from Fairmont Baptist Church 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 with Rev. Leonard Castleman and Rev. John Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 6.
