Joy Craig Haskins

Joy Craig Haskins, age 77 of Penhook went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her residence. Born on June 15, 1934 a daughter of the late George and Christine Craig, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy C. Haskins. Joy was a member of Museville Christian Church. Surviving are her four sons and two daughters, Robert and Pam Haskins (Callands), Flop and Pinkie Haskins (Bassett), Johnny and Bonnie Haskins (Callands), Cathy and Larry Quinn (Rocky Mount), Mike and Angela Haskins (Pelham, NC), Penny and Steve Allen (Callands); sister, Brandi English; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to her caregivers, Wendy Davis and Hope McVey. Funeral services will be conducted from Museville Christian Church 2 p.m. Saturday with Minister Rusty Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Museville Christian Church, 343 Columbus Road, Chatham, Virginia 24531 or Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 390 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. Her family will receive friends 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Friday at Museville Christian Church and other times at the family residence, Penhook.
