Joyce Lentz Austin

Joyce Ellien Lentz Austin died peacefully at home in Boones Mill, VA, at the age of 87 on Friday, August 20, 2021. “Ma” was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & sister. She will be missed by many, including her 3 children, Carrie Church (Frank), Barry, (Donna), Terry (Rebecca), 6 grandchildren,  Glynn Dudley, III  (Gillian Burt) Stephen Austin (Melinda), Stephanie Beery (Adam), Sherry Flora (Roland),  Hannah Bailey (Randy), Leah Austin-Moon (Amy), 11 great-grandchildren, Karlee, Tate, Calli, Hazel, Austin, Harvey, Aaron, Alexander, Bentley, Cora & Lindley, as well as 2 sisters, Judy Long (Ralph) & Lola Cox & a sister-in-law, Darlene Rutrough (William) and nieces & nephews. Also left to mourn is her little dog Hoss, who was her constant companion for the last 9 years. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Joyce’s caregivers, Nancy Brooks & Mikie Hall, Carilion Hospice & Nurse Nancy, who all made her last days more comfortable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. At Joyce’s request, there will not be a funeral service. The family will have a private celebration to honor her life.
