Joyce M. "Bunny" Meador

Joyce M. “Bunny” Meador of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at home.  Bunny was preceded in death by her parents Mary V. and L.W. “Bill” Duncan and brother J. Allen Duncan of Meadowview, VA. She is survived by her loving husband Michael Meador; sister, Charlotte Ehlshlager and husband Karl; sister-in-law, Drema Meador; brother-in-law, Jerry Meador of Roanoke, nieces and nephew, Gwyn Duncan, Jeff Duncan, Jane Gilbert and Mary Ann Ehlshlager and special cousins, Lois Wetzel and John Duncan. Bunny graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in nursing. After moving to Roanoke, she worked at Roanoke Valley Psychiatric Center and Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Bunny loved her family, her cats, her flowers, a good laugh, rock and roll and trips to the ocean. The family expresses their gratitude to their kind neighbors and for the care of her hospice team Susan, Heidi and Sabrina. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Franklin County Humane Society. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
