Joyce Conner Laprade

Joyce Conner LaPrade, age 79 of Rocky Mount died Monday, August 19, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnie Daniel Conner; mother, Kitty Rorrer Hollandsworth; sister, Emma C. Belton; and brother, Kenneth B. Hollandsworth. Surviving are her husband, Hurmand LaPrade; three daughters, Kitty Teresa Handy, Gwendolyn Handy Chermak (John), Stacy Handy Luckey (Michael); step-daughter, Tammy L. Parr (Mike); four grandchildren, Brody Luckey, Ava Luckey, Dustin Chermak, Baxter Chermak; sister, Patricia H. Hawks (Eddie); two nieces, Melissa Crass, Amanda Kaminski; one nephew, Matthew Cannoy; four great-nephews; one great-niece; and her beloved dog, Phenix. Joyce received her Paralegal Degree from Patrick Henry Community College. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
