Joyce Whitlow Nelson

Joyce Whitlow Nelson, age 77 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, July 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Nelson; parents, Emmitt and Dolly Whitlow; sister, Bertha Furrow (Stafford); and brothers, James Henry Whitlow and Amos Whitlow. Joyce is survived by her sisters-in-law, Jean Whitlow and Nancy Whitlow; nieces and nephews, Pat Caldwell (Fred), Linda Grossman (Bill), Wray Furrow (Brenda), Sandra Blackstock (Joe), Goldie Potter (Andy), Darlene Whitlow (Kenny), Daniel Whitlow (Tammy), Lorie Larrabee (Eddie), Calvin Furrow (Cyndi); several great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church or a charity of your choice. A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
