Joyce May Sink Trout, age 75 of Rocky Mount went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, surrounded by loving family and friends on Monday, July 25, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie Brown Sink and Ezra Cornelius Sink; her brother, Glenn Sink; sister-in-law, Constance Marie Poff; a very special nephew, David R. Trout, Jr. and brother-in-law, Garland Krantz. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Lester R. Trout. She also leaves behind two daughters and son-in-law, Sindy Shields and Celes and Keith Foutz; five grandchildren, Tracey Lester, Jason Layman, Jamie Shields, Jared Foutz and Stuart Davis; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Lester and Chase Lester. She is also survived by two sisters and one sister-in-law, Shirley and Kenneth Boone, Sallie Elaine and David Trout and Iris Sink; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy and Sandra Trout, Nelson and Millie Poff, Faye Krantz, Pete and Suzanne Trout, Paul and Sharon Trout, Jimmy and Vickie Trout; two aunts, Irene Scott and Stella Foster; and many loving nieces and nephews. Joyce was loved and cherished by many other family members and church members. Joyce attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Rocky Mount where she was a faithful, dedicated member. She was loved very much by her church family. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. James Graham and Rev. Charley Waller officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to some very special people during our time of need, Jason Layman, grandson, who lovingly stayed by her side and took care of her needs until her final moment. Also the family would like to thank, Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, Nurse Janice Payne, Sasha Harris, and Gloria Nolen with Nurses Touch and many others who helped the family during this time. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
