Joyce L. Stokes

Joyce Stokes ran the race God set out for her and went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the age of 82. Joyce was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her husband of 60 years, Pat, and their children Patricia, Kim and John. She will also be missed by her three grandchildren, JP, Sarah and Hannah, and by son-in-law, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Sandy.

Joyce was an incredible wife, mother and friend. She was a Registered Nurse (UVa ’57), a Teaching Leader for Bible Study Fellowship, a Director of Women’s Ministries at Westwood Baptist Church (WA), and an accomplished runner. She had great love for all people and was a faithful servant of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018, at 2PM at Franklin Heights Baptist Church with visitation beginning one hour prior. Internment will follow on Saturday at 1PM at Sinks Grove Baptist Church in WV.
