Joyce Faye Young

Joyce Hodges Young, age 72 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, December 11, 2013. Joyce was born December 14, 1940 a daughter of the late Posie and Easter Hodges. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Renee Young; brothers, Nelson and Billy. Surviving are her husband, G.A. Young; son, Ronald; brothers and sisters, Macie Hodges, Posie L. Hodges, Jr., Nadine Chitwood (Clifton), Leslie Hodges (Virginia), Brady Hodges (Marie), Allen Hodges (Peggy), Daniel Hodges (Judy), David Hodges (Betty); sister-in-law, Betty Jo Hodges; many nieces and nephews. Joyce served the children of Sontag School 37 years in Food Service. Graveside services will be conducted from the Hodges Family Cemetery 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Michael Stump officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Doe Run Christian Church Building Fund, 3536 Doe Run Road, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151 or to the Free Clinic of Franklin County, 490 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
