Juanita Jones Howell

Juanita Jones Howell, age 93 of Roanoke, Virginia died Monday, July 30, 2012. She was born December 24, 1918 in Callaway, VA daughter of the late Aldine and Pearl Jones. She lived in Danville, VA, Greensboro, NC, and Richmond, VA before moving to Roanoke, VA. She retired from Thalhimers Department Store in Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winifred Howell; daughter, Margie H. Daniel; brothers, Stafford Jones, Ishmael Jones and Rudolph Jones; sisters, Ina J. Messenger and Christine M. Jones. Mrs. Howell was a member of Southall Baptist Church in Danville, VA. She is survived by her granddaughter, Kimberly Daniel of FL; son-in-law, Grady Daniel of Richmond, VA; sisters, Estelle Jones, Geraldine Smith and husband William all of Roanoke, VA; many wonderful nieces and nephews that visited her in the nursing home. Funeral services will be conducted from St. Peters Episcopal Church 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. John Heck officiating. Interment will follow in the Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
