Juanita Cundiff Plybon, age 95 of Hardy passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026. She was born June 28, 1930. Juanita is preceded in death by her loving, devoted and precious husband, Calvin L. Plybon (May 8, 2023); parents, William Thomas Cundiff and Mattie Brooks Cundiff; brothers, William Joseph “Billy” Cundiff, James Herbert Cundiff, Andrew Thomas Cundiff and Bobby M. Cundiff; sisters, Myrtle Cundiff Carter and Jewell Cundiff Hunt; brothers-in-law; Lyndell Carter, Benjamin "Ben" Hunt and Donald P. "Donnie" Hunley; sister-in-law, Joyce Scott Cundiff.

Surviving to cherish precious, loving memories are her special and precious daughter; Carolyn Plybon Fitzpatrick and her loving husband James E. Fitzpatrick, III, of Amherst; her special and precious son, Kenneth L. Plybon and his sweet wife, Lura Truman Plybon, of Hardy; four precious grandchildren and spouse; Jerilyn Nichole Shelton, Lynchburg, Colby L. Plybon of Hardy, April Plybon Stultz (Damon) Rocky Mount, and Samantha Plybon Weaver (Josiah) Harrisonburg; five great-grandchildren, Julia E. Becker, Reagan and Carly Stultz, Aleah and David Weaver; step-grandchildren and spouses, Susan Bryan (Christopher), James E. Fitzpatrick, IV (Jennifer), Jonathan Fitzpatrick, step-great-grandchildren, Skylour Stultz, Reagan and Latham Bryan, Madison, Mackenzie and Malina Fitzpatrick; one precious sister, Betty Cundiff Hunley; dear sisters-in-law; Lottie Shively Cundiff, Brenda Franklin Cundiff and Nellie Plybon Booth; many special, precious nieces and nephews, church family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pigg River Primitive Baptist Association, c/o James Shelor, 5183 Yellow Mountain Road Lot 53, Roanoke, VA 24014.

She was blessed to be received as member of Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church along with Daddy, William Thomas Cundiff, was in Roanoke Memorial Hospital November 23, 1964. Dad did not live to be baptized. Juanita was baptized February 26, 1964 with Brother Abie and Sister Ruby Ferguson by our Pastor Elder Cecil Turner and her father-in-law, Elder Posie Plybon in Furnace Creek, Rocky Mount.

Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 with Elder Mark Terry, Elder Junior Conner and Elder Ray King officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will received friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
