Juanita Irene Ramsey Turner Sensabaugh, 89 of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2013 with her children by her side. A daughter of the late Doctor Muncey Ramsey, Sr. and Mattie Irene Draper Ramsey she was born February 13, l923 at Sydnorsville, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her five brothers, Kermit Ramsey, Woodrow Ramsey, Eddison Ramsey, James Draper Ramsey and D.M. Ramsey, Jr.; two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Ramsey Young and Leawood Ramsey Turner. Juanita was blessed by God growing up in a Christian family with many brothers and sisters to share in good times. She loved playing the piano and singing. The family knew God’s love and blessings were with them. Juanita loved being with her sisters, always looking forward to bible camp or going on vacation with them. Later in life she served as music director at New Hope Methodist Church for eight years. Juanita is survived by her son and daughter- in- law, Christopher Edwin and Mary Jane Angle Turner; daughter, Kathryn Turner Welch Rhodes; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Turner Davis, Brittany Marie Turner and Benjamin Lanier Welch; four sisters, Alice L. Ross, Ann Hinkle, Mildred A. Doughton and Nancy Cooper Turner; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Turner Ramsey. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Bennett and Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
