Julia Faye Gillespie, age 82 of Rocky Mount, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
She worked hard as a wife and mother raising her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Gillespie, Sr.; son, Charles R. Gillespie, Jr.; parents, Arthur and Cleo Hager; grandchildren, Robert Gillespie, Jr., Jeremy Unger; great-grandchild, Chelsea Gillespie; sisters, Jean Ward and Katherine Wagstaff.
Surviving are her children, Sarah Hardy, Robert Gillespie, Dorothy Heckman and husband, William of Colorado, Jean Hanks and husband George, Debbie and husband Clint Sharp, Ronnie Gillespie and wife Patty, Tony Gillespie and wife Cindy; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Annie Holliday.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
Her family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
