Julia Ann Carpenter Osborne, 76, of Moneta, VA made Heaven her new home on Sunday October 5, 2014. She was born in Wooster, OH April 13, 1938 to the late Anson (Hank) and Alice Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Osborne, grandson Joshua Osborne, brothers Archie and Anson Carpenter and sisters, June Weahry and Roberta Homan. She is survived by son, Donald (Kathie) Osborne, daughter Kathleen Osborne, granddaughter Tess (Rick) Cooper, grandson Walker Maxey, and sisters Edna Chapman and Patricia (Larry) DeVore, as well as many nieces and nephews. Julia was a straight shooter who told what was on her mind. She put her children first whenever possible and encouraged them to go after their dreams. Julia believed that if you are going to dream you may as well dream BIG. Julia spent her life making a living in many factories, including Rubbermaid, Wooster Brush, Semac Industries, Lane and Stanley Furniture. She enjoyed taking a piece of plain wood and transforming it into beautiful furniture. At home she loved to cook and bake and taught her children and grandchildren many kitchen skills. Although she never moved her church membership from Berlin Baptist in Berlin, OH, she continued to study God?s Word and have frequent talks with the Lord. She was always praying for her family?s health and careers. Julia wanted her family to be healthy, happy and safe at all times. It grieved her to know anyone she loved was struggling. She was giving advice right up to the end. Visitation with the family will be at Flora Funeral Home in Rocky Mount, VA on Tuesday, October 7th from 6:00 p.m. ? 7:30 p.m. and a service from 7:30 ? 8:00 with Pastor Keith Floyd officiating. The funeral will be 5:00 p.m. Friday October 10th with Pastor Todd Hartley officiating at Northside Baptist Church in Millersburg, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please donate Bibles to Gideon International so that others might come to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
