Julia Louise Scott Perdue, 84, of Boones Mill, went to meet her Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2011. She retired from Kenrose Manufacturing with over 30 years service and then worked in food service at Community Hospital. Mrs. Perdue enjoyed cooking and caring for others and will be greatly missed by scores of family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Minnie Gillespie Scott; her husband, Frank Perdue; and grandson, Jason Perdue. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Anne Perdue; grandchildren and spouses, Sean and Patricia Perdue, and Erin and J.D. Prillaman; greatgrandchildren, Brittney Perdue, Stephen Perdue, Ryan Prillaman and Lexie Prillaman; sisters, Freda Phillips and Delores Brown; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Scott; sister-in-law, Donna Scott; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tim York and the Rev. Burton White officiating. Interment will follow in Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. A reception will follow for family and friends. Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church where Mrs. Perdue was a faithful member or Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Her family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
