Julian B. Smith

Julian B. Smith (Jewell), age 80 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, February 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Betty Smith; brothers, Letcher, Lacy, Ruben, William, and Allison Smith; and sisters, Cora Hodges, Doris Perdue, Stella Hodges. Jewell retired from Bassett Furniture Co. and loved fishing, hunting, and his dogs. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews; and his caregiver and special niece, Frances Hopkins. Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. His family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the graveside. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
