Justin E. Hodges, age 18 of Rocky Mount died suddenly Saturday, December 1, 2007.
Justin’s life was cut short after an accident on his way home from work. He was a 2007 graduate of Franklin County High School who lettered in football. He was also a life long Scout and loved fishing, canoeing, camping, video games, football and his truck that he was fixing up, but the greatest love of his life was his music. He was happiest when playing his Les Paul, which he loved so much. Maybe on Christmas he can get together with Hendricks, Grandpa Jr., Vaughn, VanZandt and maybe play for Jesus.
Justin is preceded in death by grandparents Elwood Jr. Hodges and George Hodges; his great-grandparents; uncles J.B. Brown, and Buddy Hodges.
Surviving are his parents Ricky L. and Darlene Hodges; brother and best friend Matthew Hodges; grandparents Peggy Hodges, and Louise Hodges; aunts MariLynn and Dale Nichols, Darnell Brown; uncles Tim and Tiffany Hodges, Clayton Hodges; best friends, Daniel Medley, Mark Mason, Jonathan Hobart, Josh Martin, Andrew “Sugar-Bear” Hairston, David Bruington, Travis Hurt, Josh Clements, Patrick Crandall, all of his previous football teammates, coworkers in division 500 C shift at Yokahama Tire Co., classmates at Virginia Western where he took computer Electronics; many other family and close friends too numerous to mention.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Franklin County Football Club.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Dr. William Shively officiating. Interment will follow in the Hodges family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 12:00 noon Tuesday with his family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount, VA.
