Karen Kirby Blancher

Karen Blancher, age 77 of Roanoke, VA passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Karen was born to Thomas Ansell Kirby and Georgia Creasy Kirby in Roanoke City. She graduated from Cave Spring High School in 1965 and was a secretary at Norfolk Southern for almost 20 years before retiring. Karen loved spending time at Smith Mountain Lake or vacationing at the beach. She enjoyed reading books, crafting Christmas ornaments and admiring her doll collection. Waiting for her arrival in Heaven are her parents, Tom and Georgia; and son Brian Blancher. Karen is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Kerr and her husband Mike Kerr; granddaughters, Keeley and Collette Kerr; granddaughter, Kaylee Jenkins; cousin, Patricia Lane who was like a sister to her; and numerous other cousins. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Fair View Cemetery in Roanoke. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
