Katheryn C. Riddle

Katheryn “Kitty” Cooper Riddle, age 73 of Rocky Mount passed into the hand of our Lord on the morning of Thursday, May 27, 2010. She was born to the late Tom and Dorothy Cooper on July 22, 1936 in Rocky Mount, Virginia. Kitty was preceded in death by her only sibling, William “Billy” Cooper. She was a member of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, movies, and spending time with her grandchildren. Kitty loved animals and always had pets and a loving home for animals in need. “Wee Wee”, her Dachshund of 16 years is missing her greatly. She worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Rocky Mount for 30+ years until she retired in 1998. She is survived by her three loving children, Kaye Hale, Donald Riddle and special friend Kym Sowder, and Tom Riddle and wife Allyson. She is also survived by seven handsome grandsons who will miss her very much, Billy Riddle, Chris Riddle and wife Coree, Tanner Hale, Austin Riddle, Allyn Riddle, Drew Shumate, and David Jennings; special cousin, Tony Shumate and wife Donna; godson, Steve Angle; special sister-in-law, Nancy Turner. Chris and Coree blessed her with a beautiful great-granddaughter, Caedyn Grace Riddle. Also surviving are two aunts, Pat Adams and Jo Price. She was a kind, gracious, gentle and generous woman. She will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew her. We will forever cherish the memories of her in our hearts, minds, and souls. Memorial services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, 35 North Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. Her family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Don Riddle, 482 Beechdale Road, Rocky Mount.
