Kathleen Jensen

Kathleen Murphy Jensen, age 69 of Wirtz, Va. died Friday, December 11, 2009. A beloved mother and grandmother she enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and boating. Mrs. Jensen was a nurse for over 25 years, was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and also attended services at Faith Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy Newman Murphy. Surviving are her husband, Richard Jensen; children, Christine Adams, Kenneth Jensen, Kirsten McGoldrick; grandchildren, Rachelle, Tomás, Sarah, Michael, Julia, Kaitlyn, Thomas, Thyra; two sisters, Dorothy Murphy and Bernadette Machutta. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Rev. Salvador Anonuevo officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She was a 27 year survivor of cancer and the family request that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 1079C Spruce Street, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
