Kathryn Elaine Kinsey

Kathryn Elaine Kinsey, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Born May 17, 1946 in Sarasota, Florida, she was the daughter of Wellington “Wimpy” and May Stevens. She was a Sarasota resident until 2005 when she moved to Franklin County Virginia in order to be closer to her sons. Her loving and caring qualities made her a wonderful mother and a cherished friend. Her altruistic nature served her well as an indispensable healthcare provider, always extending herself to others until her own health wouldn't allow it. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara Messner. She is survived by her sons, Eric Smith (Adriana), Steven Kinsey (Bethanie), and Brian Kinsey (Jackie); grandchildren, Emily & Sam Kinsey and Melanie Smith; She is also survived by her nephew, Mark Messner, and niece, Michelle Messner; uncle and aunt, Issac and Dorothy Roberts, as well as many extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, 2 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 5969 Booker T. Washington Hwy in Rocky Mount, VA.
