Katie Morton Laury

Katie Morton Laury, 81 of Rocky Mount passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013. She was born on May 26, 1932, to the late Edna (Louie) Morton of Independence, VA. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James D. Laury. Katie retired from the Franklin County Health Department in Rocky Mount with 21 years of service. She also worked for Leggett Department Store for 14 years. She was a long time member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Terri Hayes (Danny) of Winston-Salem, NC, and sons Michael S. Laury (Donna) of Dover, Pennsylvania and Dennis E. Laury (Clarita) of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Andrew, Joseph, Jeremy, Josh, Jake, Caroline and one great-grandchild Christopher. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 23, 2013 at Mountain View Memorial Park with Pastor Mark Griffith officiating.
