Katie Lou Mccrickard Anderson

Katie Lou McCrickard Anderson, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2016. She was born November 16, 1932, daughter of the late William Matthew McCrickard and Ida Hammock McCrickard. Katie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard A. Anderson; and her children, Judy A. Arthur (Ronnie) and Tim Anderson (Robin); as well as grandchildren that she loved so much, Shelli Arthur and Ryan Anderson. Also surviving are sisters, Kathryn O’Rourke, Virginia Meeks and Shelby Adams. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul and Berkley McCrickard; and sisters, Evelyn Hardy and Nannie Mae McCrickard. Katie graduated from Franklin County High School in 1951. She retired from E. I. DuPont after 32 years of service and was an active member of Doe Run Christian Church. We love you and will cherish your sweet memory forever. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 with Rev. Michael Stump officiating. Interment will follow in Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount Va.
