Kenneth Lee Allman

On Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Our Heavenly Father called His faithful servant, Kenneth Lee Allman to his heavenly home. Kenneth was born in Glade Hill, VA on June 19, 1932, son of the late Dotsie and Wilbert Allman. He was 86 years young. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rachel Anderson Allman. Also, he leaves to cherish his memories, children Henry Allman and Angie Belcher, Donna and Billy Thurman, Twyla and Donnie Hambrick; his grandchildren, Diana and Riley Hall, Christopher and Kameron Hambrick, Travis Sink, Sarah and Michael Blanchard, Brandon and Sarah Hambrick, Elizabeth and Vince Kane, Victoria Thurman and Jonathan Hall, Bethany and Justin David; and great-grandchildren, Rylee Hall, Haylee Hall, Kaleigh Thurman, Reagan David, Huntley David, Madison Blanchard, Malachi Kane, Huck Hambrick and Baby Hambrick. Kenneth was a member of Glade Hill Baptist Church, where he fulfilled many positions serving His Lord. He was a farmer and enjoyed feeding his cows, harvesting the garden, and riding his tractor. His favorite hobby was talking to his family and friends, especially his precious grandchildren he always had a funny story to tell. Kenneth also served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He was first stationed in Alabama, he then traveled to Germany by ship. He served in the Army for 19 months. Kenneth served more than 45 years as a life time member of the Glade Hill Volunteer Fire Department. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Glade Hill Baptist Church, 6627 Colonial Turnpike, Glade Hill, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends starting at 11:30 a.m. prior to the service and family and friends are welcome to a gathering with dinner in the church fellowship hall immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Glade Hill Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 14, Glade Hill, Virginia 24092.
