Ken Bradley, age 70 of Ferrum died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at his residence. Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Bradley, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Cannaday. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Gloria Bradley, mother Janette Bradley of Fulton, KY, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Patrick) Prillaman, Fieldale, daughter, Stephanie Bradley, Ferrum, brother and sister-in-law, Jim (Jan) Bradley, sister, Sandra Zalas all of South Carolina, one special granddaughter, Kendall Prillaman, special Aunt Lera Hale, Ferrum, several nieces and nephews, special brother-in-law, Donald (Buster) Cannaday, special neighbors, Bob and Shirley Adkins. Ken graduated from Murray State University in 1968 with a B. S. Degree in history and Physical Education. In 1968 he was stationed in South Vietnam working as a military journalist. He received the Bronze Star for service "above and beyond the call of duty." In addition he received the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Aircraft Crewman Wings. Ken joined the Franklin News Post in 1989 where he held various positions including news editor and was still employed at the time of his illness. Memorial services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. A special thanks to Joe Grisetti and Carilion Hospice Services of Franklin County for their love and support. His family respectfully requests no food.
