Kenneth Wayne Holcomb, Sr.

Kenneth Wayne Holcomb, Sr., age 83 of Fork Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Kermit and Lucy Holcomb and by his wife of 61 years, Sherry McGhee Holcomb; son, Neil Holcomb; grandson, Daniel Buckner, brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Nancy Holcomb; brother, Glennis Holcomb; sister, Carmel Powell; sister and brother-in-law, Freeda and Randolph Brown. Surviving are his children, Kenneth W. Holcomb Jr. (Barbara), Sarah Campbell (Kenny Weddle), Reggie McGhee (Jenny) and Mearl Boswell (Lee); grandchildren, Blake Holcomb (Katie), Beth Cummings (Lee), Kimberly Holcomb, Haley McGhee, Vandalina Holcomb, Lenzie Boswell, Emily Boswell; three great-grandchildren, Eva Holcomb, Emma Holcomb and Lyla Cummings; brother and sister-in-law, DL and Bobbie Holcomb; sister-in-law, Shirley Holcomb; brother-in-law, Jim Powell; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Robertson (Junior). Thanks to his many friends in the neighborhood. He was a member of the Fork Mountain United Methodist Church. Wayne was a home improvement contractor and co-founder of Fork Mountain Adult Home with his wife Sherry. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023 with Pastor Deke Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers or food, memorials may be made to Fork Mountain Rescue Squad.
