Kenneth Martin Simpson, otherwise known as the “Metalman”, age 52 of Wirtz passed on Friday, June 19, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Ramona Washburn Simpson; and children Nicholas, Shane, and Olivia. Also surviving are his parents Ruth Elizabeth VanDeVyvere Simpson and CSM(ret) Carroll Simpson of Gretna; brothers, Steve of Hickory, NC, Christopher of Lebanon, TN, Jeffery of Liberty, NC; sisters, Carolyn Baker of Houston, TX, Diana Lavoie of Gretna.
He was preceded in death by brother, Mark.
Memorial services will be conducted from Halesford Baptist Church 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Melvin Harris, pastor of Halesford Baptist Church, officiating and Father Jim Gallagher from St. Victoria Catholic Church will be assisting.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halesford Baptist Church, 2485 Lost Mountain Road, Wirtz, Virginia 24184 or to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 390 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
His family will be receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Halesford Baptist Church.
