Kermit Cornelious Hale, age 92 of Ferrum died Sunday, August 26, 2007 in the local hospital.
He was born October 31, 1914 a son of the late Noah Lee and Malinda Snead Hale. He was also preceded in death by his seven brothers, Curtis, Coy, Roy, Delbert, Amos, Coolidge and Denard Hale; two sisters, Mittie Branscome and Mary Tickle.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lera Chaney Hale; two sisters, Clara Branscome and Ruth Dillon; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hale is also survived by a host of friends including Temple Guler.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Kendell Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Hale Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia.
