Kermit Lee “Jimmy” Scott, age 85 of Callaway, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Fannie Scott; two sisters, Louise Wagoner and Garnet Woods; two brothers, Marvin Scott and Carroll Scott; sons-in-law, Ricky Von Altice and Walter Hynes Sr. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Margaret Shively Scott; children, Patty Altice, Wayne Scott (Freda), Diane Hynes, and Teresa Harrison (Dale); grandchildren, Nick Altice (Leigh Ann), Ben Altice, Lindsay Altice, Kristin Spencer (Jacob), Patrick Scott (Raven), Joshua Hynes, Walter Hynes (Samantha), Jimmy Harrison (Joseph), and Amanda Harrison (William); numerous great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild; brothers, Douglas Scott, Carl Scott, and Danny Scott (Judy); sister, Darlene “Dean” Guilliams; and many nieces and nephews. Jimmy loved gardening, wildlife, and being an outdoorsman. He was a dedicated member of Evangelistic House of Prayer for almost 40 years. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2021 with Rev. Bud Nichols and Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow at Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
