Kevin Peters Flora

Kevin P. Flora, age 48, of Rocky Mount died Sunday, November 1, 2009. He started his service to the community in 1979. He was co-founder and funeral director at Flora Funeral Service. His compassionate caring nature was one of his greatest attributes. Kevin was a member of various organizations throughout his life, including Lions Club, Masons, Jaycees, Rotary, and was in the past a Director of the Chamber of Commerce. His favorite volunteer work was with the Developmental Center of Franklin County. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard B. and Mary S. Flora. Kevin is survived by his devoted wife, soul mate, and friend Donna and precious daughters Meredith Elizabeth and Katherine Paige. Also surviving are his sisters and brother-in-law, Suzette Flora Bryant and Jennifer and Carmon Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law Howard B. Flora, Jr. and Susan, Stephen D. Flora and Sandy, Jeffrey L. Flora and Pauline Joyce. Kevin had several nieces and nephews including Matt Powell and Deanna (Dee-Dee) Spivey who he always considered as his own children. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday with his family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
