Kristopher Glenn (Kris) Mitchell, age 18 of Ferrum died Saturday, August 18, 2007 as the result of an automobile accident.
Kris was an avid outdoorsman who loved dogs, hunting, fishing and playing softball. In 2004, he was named the MVP of the Franklin County Parks and Recreation Co-Ed Softball League. Kris was scheduled to begin classes on Monday at Patrick Henry Community College. Most of all Kris was a great “big brother” and will be missed by all.
Surviving are his mother, Jody Mitchell; sister, Morgan; grandparents, Winford and Christine Martin, Doug and Lorraine Roberts, Mike and Peggy Mitchell; uncles, Roy and Chuck Martin, Adam and Matt Mitchell; aunts, Katherine Mitchell, Shannon Mitchell and Julie Mitchell; special cousins, Daniel Martin, Michael Martin, Hunter Martin, Austin Martin, Jake Martin, Josh Mitchell and Grasyn Mitchell. He is also survived by his father, Warren Mitchell; half brothers, Brandon Mitchell and Garrett Mitchell; and half sister, Kayla Mitchell.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. William R. Shively and Rev. Arnold Terry officiating. Interment will follow in St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia.
