Lake Hylton Jones, age 93 of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005. She was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Daniel Garland Jones; parents, Martha and John Hylton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and John Thomas, Minnie and Julian Weeks, Vennie and Harold Austin, Virginia and Charlie Bussey, Edna and Grover Turman, Josie and Charles Via, Clara and Jeb Turman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lemuel and Florence Hylton, Gratton Hylton, Dennis Hylton, Henry and Celeste Hylton; step grandson, Michael Haynes.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Betty Jones, Fieldale, Don and Judy Jones, Bedford, Billy and Norma Jones, and Jessie and Sandy Jones, Rocky Mount; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jackie Woods, and Bernice and Gene Moyer, Rocky Mount; 10 grandchildren, Curtis Jones, Kevin Jones, Dale and Ellen Jones, Donna Kay and Jimmy LaBruno, Michael and Kim Jones, Richard and Beth Hudson, Eva Marie and Jerry Brooks, Wesley and Melanie Hudson, Pamela and Jay Hodges, and Patricia Moyer and friend, Ken Bradshaw; 3 step grandsons, Tony and Debbie Robertson, Keith and Carole Robertson, and Dwayne and Linda Robertson; 8 great-grandchildren, Tabitha Jones, Robert Dale Jones, Josie Lynn Jones, Jared Jones, Daniel Hodges, Anna Marie Hudson, Jessica Grace LaBruno, Jaydan Lake Hodges; 4 step great-grandchildren, Brian and Christine Robertson, Lauren Robertson, Leslie Robertson, and Nicholas Robertson; one step great-great-grandson, Jacob Tyler Robertson; sisters-in-law, Mary Turner, Mildred Jones, Bernice Jones, and Vivian and Corbie Peters; nieces and nephews; family friends, Betty Taylor and Winfred Hart.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Robert Williard officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery at Fairview Church of the Brethren on Rt. 40 West, Rocky Mount.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you make a memorial contribution to the Fairview Church of the Brethren Building Fund, c/o Thomas C. Young, Treasurer, 60 Belmont Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday with the family receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and other times at the residence. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
