Lara Gerrow

Lara Lynn Gerrow, age 53 of Greensboro, NC died Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Infinity Senior Care. She was born April 30, 1972 and was preceded in death by her father, William Gerrow.

Surviving are her mother, Carolyn Gerrow; sister, Ashley Allred (Eric) and their children, Greyson, Beckett and Brinley Allred; sister, Amanda Clift (Jon) and their son, Banks Clift.

Lara graduated McIver School in 1993 and also GTCC for her CNA license. Lara was a bright light who loved deeply and with an open heart. She made a profound impact throughout Greensboro through her work at Gateway Education Center, Moses Cone Extended Care, and within the larger community. Her love for her family was deeply rooted, and she found immense joy in giving to others.

Lara was a truly dynamic force of nature. She loved to dance, especially with an audience, listened to music, created many works of art, helped in the kitchen, bowled with great joy and loved the thrill of making a strike, and traveled across the nation singing with the Gamma Mu Gamma Choir. She won numerous medals in the Special Olympics and was honored with the “2 Those Who Care” award from WFMY News.

Central to Lara’s life was the unwavering faith, belief, and support of her parents and sisters, who believed in her fully, celebrated her gifts, and stood beside her with steadfast love. Their devotion helped Lara flourish and share her light so generously with the world. A gracious caregiver to so many, Lara touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.

A private graveside service will be held at the Gerrow Family Cemetery in Moneta, Virginia. A celebration of life will be held at Community in Christ Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
