Laura Anne Williams, age 42 formerly of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
  
  
  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tipton and Mildred Hudson, Robert and Laura Williams; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
  
  
  Laura was a graduate of Franklin County High School and Virginia Tech. She worked as a property manager for Summerwalk Condominiums in Arlington, Virginia. An active member of the Alexandria Jaycees for many years, she was awarded the chapter’s highest award, the Life Member Award. She enjoyed many activities including volleyball, softball, and bowling. She hiked the Grand Canyon three times since 2002. Laura loved to help others and recently participated in the Avon Breast Cancer walk hiking 39 miles in two days. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church whose
  
  love and support have been invaluable to her family during
  
  this difficult time. Laura enjoyed life and had a gift for friendship. She was loved by her many friends and family. She will be remembered for many things, but especially her love for others, her sweetness, and her laughter.
  
  
  Surviving are her parents, Raymond S. and Mary H. Williams; brothers, Raymond David and James Patrick Williams; nephew, Zane Patrick Williams; aunts, Frances Dooley, Martha Ann Divers, Nora Thompson; and numerous cousins.
  
  
  Funeral services will be conducted from Franklin Heights Baptist Church 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. J. Larry Holland and Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
  
  
  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity. Her family will be receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
