Lawrence Joseph Mack
Lawrence Joseph Mack, age 71, of Glade Hill, Va. passed away at home on October 27, 2009, with his wife Mary Jane Mack and friends at his side. Affectionally know as Larry to his friends and “MACKIE” by his wife. Larry was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., lived on Long Island, N.Y., then Vernon, N.J. and retired to Virginia. He was the owner of Larry’s Pub in West New York, N.J. and other restaurants. Larry and his wife of 35 years owned and operated a real estate business in Vernon, N.J. for 30 years. He also worked at the N.J. Playboy Club for five years, as shop steward and bartender, Larry served in the United States Coast Guard for six years. His hobbies were hunting, gourmet cooking, antiques, and telling stories and jokes. He was preceded in death by his father William Mack and mother Laura Gessner and sister Carol Pallotta of Toms River, N.J. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary Jane (Little), brother William Mack of Florida and two nephews Guy and Ty Pallotta of Toms River, N.J.. No flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Redwood United Methodist Church, 3001 Old Franklin Turnpike Rocky Mount, Va. 24151 or Carilion Hospice Services of Franklin County. In memory of a joyous life, memorial services will conducted on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Redwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Dulaney officiating.
