Lawrence Horton Moore

Lawrence H. “Larry” Moore, age 72 of Roanoke went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 5, 2011. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Roanoke for many years. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James H. and Charlie Lou Bowers Moore; wife, Elizabeth Brooks Moore “my sweetie”. Surviving are his step-son, Michael Faircloth and wife Leslie; step-daughter, Patricia Tyree (Jerry Reynolds); step-grandchildren, Timothy (Linda) Tyree and Matthew Faircloth; step-great-grandchildren, Kelly, Ricky and Billy Tyree; and his secretary, Betty (Edward) Payne. Graveside services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery (1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount) 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 with Dr. Bryan Smith and Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2799, Roanoke, Virginia 24001. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
