Lawton Kelly Bradley, age 75 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, October 28, 2011. He was born January 17, 1936. He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. He had received caring support at the Virginia Veterans Care Center for the last three years. He was a graduate of Troy State University, an Air Force Veteran of 21 years, Post Master of the Redwood Post Office and member of the local Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Lawton (Buck) Bradley; his mother, Christine Kennett Bradley; and sister, Patricia Bradley Neely. Surviving are his son, Terry Bradley; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Richard Johnson; two grandsons, Jared and Joshua Johnson; step-son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Danene Bernard; step-daughter, Lisa Willie; step-grandchildren, Josh and Deanna Bernard, Adam and Emily Willie. Also surviving are two aunts, Elizabeth K. Chilman and Dossie P. Kennett. Graveside service will be held at noon on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Mountain View Memorial Park (Route 919, old 220) with Pastor Robert Alderman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Virginia Veterans Care Center, 4550 Shenandoah Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia 24017.
