Leo Andrew Uhran

Leo Andrew Uhran, age 87 of Franklin County, Virginia passed away suddenly Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his residence. Leo was born outside Scranton, PA and was the son of the late John and Veronica (Gaszick) Uhran. After graduating from Waverly High School in Waverly, PA, Leo moved to Bridgeport, CT, where he married the late Rita Schrillo and spent many years in Monroe, CT, raising his four sons. Leo was a lifetime member of Monroe Volunteer Fire Department. In 1983 he married Nancy McCleskey of Georgia and moved to Virginia in 1989. He loved dairy farming, hard work, fishing and his family. Leo is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Mark and wife Diane of Lenoir City, TN, Leo Jr. and wife Marie of Port St. Lucie, FL, John and dear friend Michelle of Monroe, CT, and Guy and wife Norma of Monroe, CT. In addition he had four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his living siblings are John Uhran of CA, Bob Uhran of FL, Irene Burgess of FL, Joan Sullivan of FL and Vernon Uhran of TN. A Mass of Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Mark White officiating. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
