Lester Lee LaBrie, Sr. age 69 of Franklin County and formerly of Roanoke passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at his home.
He was born August 28, 1937 a son of the late Howard M. and Dulcie H. LaBrie. Mr. LaBrie retired from N & W Railroad with thirty years of service and was a member of New Vision Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Shirley Metz LaBrie; a son, Lester Lee LaBrie, Jr.; a daughter Jeannie LaBrie both of Roanoke; his granddaughter Ashly LaBrie, Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Betty Metz, Roanoke; sister-in-law, Jeanette Luke and husband Bill, Scottsdale, Arizona; three nephews; one niece. Also surviving are two special cousins, Larry and Claude Keller of Franklin; several other cousins.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted from New Vision Baptist Church, Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Keith Reynolds officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Vision Baptist Church, 4161 Fork Mountain Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151 or Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
