On Saturday, March 23, 2008, our precious, "sweet girl", Lillian Grace Andrews went to laugh and play with her heavenly father.
She was born on September 22, 2004 in Roanoke, Virginia and lived in the Westlake area of Franklin Co. Gracie brought so much joy and laughter to so many people's lives. She loved to run and play and always was saying "Bet you can’t catch me!" She was Pop's little Jackrabbit.
Gracie is the daughter of Rebecca Andrews and Howard McQuilkin, Jr.; The sister of Journie and Peyton McQuilkin; The granddaughter of Warren and Pam Corbell, "Pop and Nana" of Rocky Mount, David and Lorraine Andrews "papa and nona" of Carolina Beach, NC and Howard McQuilkin, Sr. "Grandpa" of Roanoke; The great-granddaughter of Bill and Frances Moorefield Eason, Buffalo Junction, and the late Henry Morfield, Janet Corbell of Maple NC and the late William Corbell, the Rev. Gene and Mary Andrews of Holly Grove, AK and the late Della Poteat Andrews, and the late Thomas and Evelyn Roughley of Long Island, NY. Uncles and aunts Stephen Andrews and Hollyann Garner of Coats, NC, Michael Andrews of Hardy, Jacqueline Fuhrer of Raleigh, NC, Ed Fuhrer and Nikki of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Robbie Fuhrer of Long Island, NY, and Justin Corbell of Virginia Beach.
There are many more family members to cherish her wonderful memories and two very special cousins Zane and Xander Doss of Evington.
Gracie was a student of Country Kids Childcare center in Rocky Mount where she always loved to go and see all her friends. She loved all her teachers.
Thanks to Tommy and Linda Thompson for having a special place for children to learn and be happy. Also thanks to all of the doctors and nurses that cared for Gracie thru her short little life.
She was a fighter. Also, thanks to everyone for their many prayers. She was such a blessing. Gracie, we love you baby, and as Gracie would say..."Love you more!"
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 with Rev. Gene Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
