Lillian Goins Frith, of Rocky Mount died peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Brookdale Roanoke after a long illness. Lillian was born at Bramwell WV, the third child of Arthur and Pearl Allen Goins. She grew up in a busy household with six siblings. As a teenager she met and married Jack Frith, the love of her life, and together they raised three children and enjoyed seven grandchildren. Lillian and Jack were married for fifty-six years and were active most of those years at Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Lillian enjoyed working as Executive Director of Housekeeping for twenty-one years at Franklin Memorial Hospital. After retirement, she and Jack enjoyed family, friends, gardening, fishing at their pond, traveling and spending winters in Florida. In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Jack E. Frith; daughter, Gay Frith Thompson; infant daughter, Brenda Ray Frith; son-in-law, Edward J. Smith; siblings, Howard Goins, Dorothy Lucas, Arthur Goins Jr, Zelda Cook, and Janet Bryant and many others dear to her. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Wanda Frith Smith Fischbach (Larry) of Rocky Mount, VA; her son, G. Wayne Frith (Jo) of Hopewell, VA.; and a son-in-law, Branan G. Thompson of Roanoke, VA. She is also survived by grandchildren who knew and loved her as Mimi: Blake Smith (James), Kevin Smith, Brent Smith (Anne Marie), Scott Thompson (Jim), John Thompson, Heather Frith, Ian Frith, and by great-grandchildren, Liam and Colin Smith. She is also survived by a brother, Bill Goins, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Lillian's memory to Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, SW, Roanoke, VA 24018, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. A service celebrating Lillian's life will be held on Tuesday, May 10, at Flora Funeral Service, 665 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with visitation for one hour before the service.
