Lillie Sloan Amos

Lillie Sloan Amos, age 68 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, January 13, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thomas Sloan and Edith Mae Yopp Sloan; husband, Lowell Henry Amos; two brothers, Buck Sloan and Junior Sloan; two sisters, Pearly Cauley and Jannett Sloan; and best friend, Esther Sink. Surviving are her daughter, Wanda Maxey; son-in-law, Curtis Maxey; granddaughter, Mary Maxey; two sons, Thomas Amos and Roger Sloan; two grandsons, Billy Sloan and Mark Sloan; two great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Karen Duncan and Donna Sloan; brother, Robert Sloan; sister, Esther Huffman. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with Dr. William Shively officiating. Interment will follow in the Yopp Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
